At Martins Moonstone Landscape Services we take smart irrigation seriously.

We subscribe to the Irrigation Associations Smart Water Application Technology™ (SWAT™) protocol, 2005. In essence, smart irrigation is about applying only as much water as is needed, and apply it as efficiently as possible. Smart irrigation is based on well-established science.

Beyond a doubt it is the area where H.O.A., commercial entities as well as homeowners can save significant money in water costs, and indirectly, in excessive water-caused damages.

Some of these damages are:

• Excessive runoff can cause severe asphalt degradation (roads, parking lots).
• Consistent overspray on structures will cause dry-rot and structural weakness.
• Excessive water on concrete walkways can cause algae to grow, create slippery surfaces and cause injury when people slip and fall.

Points 2 and 3 can (and do) lead to lawsuits.
